Sault College is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and provides educational opportunities to 2400 full-time students and 4500 part-time students. Sault College has 18 faculties and schools, each with their own academic programs and departments:

Health Services

At Sault College, the registered physician and student nurses at the Health Support Office provide confidential, student-centered first aid.

Counselling Services

Sault College offers Counselling for any student who may be experiencing stressful events in their life.

Academic Support

Sault College offers the The Write Place which helps students with their academic writing. Peer Tutoring is available to students who are having academic difficulties.  Students can attend drop-in sessions for help with a variety of subjects, or receive one-on-one tutoring with a referral from an academic counsellor.

Library Services

The Ron Doyle Library at Sault College offers various resources for students including databases, journals, e-books, and e-videos. The library also provides services for students such as peer tutoring, and research and citation guides. The Ron Doyle Library is committed to providing students with equitable access to all of its collections and services.

Sault College Student Financial Assistance Office offers a range of financial assistance which consists of merit-based scholarships, need-based bursaries, and awards based on academic achievement. Residence and Housing

On-Campus Housing

Sault College’s Residence and Housing offers traditional style accommodations for students on campus. Residence allocation occurs using a lottery system. Traditional residence offers single, super single and double rooms. Super single rooms are converted double rooms that accommodate one student and share a washroom with the adjacent room. Single rooms consist of 8 private bedrooms that face into a communal kitchen with a shared living space and 2 washrooms. Double rooms consist of a shared bedroom and shared washroom with the adjacent room. Virtual Tours are available. Building amenities include:

  • Common lounges
  • Common study areas
  • Common kitchens
  • Access to a front desk
  • Maintenance
  • Laundry facilities

Rooms come furnished and include internet access, local telephone service, and cable television. Residence rates vary depending on room style. Mandatory meal plans are included in the cost of residence and operate on a declining balance system.

Sault College has 4 barrier-free rooms that are available for students requiring special accommodations. Students interested in acquiring one of these rooms is required to speak with the Housing Office on campus to find out more information.

Off-Campus Housing

Sault College offers an accommodation listing service for Off-Campus Housing List, where landlords can advertise rental properties available.

Sault Ste. Marie Transit

Sault Ste. Marie Transit is comprised of buses. Full-time students at Sault College are eligible for a discounted semester pass. Sault Ste. Marie Transit provides bus routes and schedules for every transit route they offer.

Accessibility

Courtesy seating is provided at the front of the bus for persons with disabilities. The Parabus Transit is a curb-to-curb service for persons with physical disabilities, who due to their disability are unable to use the conventional transit. More information about Parabus Transit and the eligibility guidelines and application is available on their website.
